After one year of the development of 5G Modem and 5G RF chips by Samsung, the two production finally enter a large scale production. The Exynos 5100 modem, the Exynos 5500 RF transceiver and the Exynos 5800 gives modulator that support the 5G New Radio and sub-6 GHz spectrum for excellent Gigabyte speed.
The Exynos Modem 5100 will be available for distribution to smartphone manufacturers very soon. Though this is not a new product but it is now hitting pipelines. It will also support all networks like 2G GSM/CDMA, 3G WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, HSPA, and 4G LTE, all in just a single chip. The Korean company suggest coupling this product with two other new component to make is reliable and power-efficient.
The Exynos RF 5500 possess 14 receiver paths for download, and as expected it supports 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM to maximize the data transfer speeds. The Exynos SM5800 makes available a low-power supply and have support up to 100 MHz ET bandwidths. The modulator can be lower to power reduction of 30% by just adjusting the supply voltage according to the modem’s RF input signal.
