The 5G technology is getting more attention day by day, developed countries like South Korea and the USA have all hand on the desk to bring it to reality. Asia giant, China has also joined the race by issuing a license to companies to start 5G operations.
A report had it that the commercial 5G license will rollout sometime around October. However, China has made a move by giving out the license yesterday, 5G operations should start very soon than expected. This indicates that the development of 5G in China is moving at a great speed.
According to an insider, “China is now issuing 5G licenses, indicating that China’s 5G industry is ready. China has the ability to let the world see what the world’s leading 5G network is!”
Also, Micheal Gao Wenhao, the Deputy General Manager of ZTE‘s 5G industrial product line was present at the Hong Kong 5G Forum of the Hong Kong Productivity Council headquarters last month. At the event, he made mention of the readiness of China to start the commercialization of 5G technology nationwide from October 1st.
A report also says that three companies will provide the base stations for 5G in Mainland China. The companies are Huawei, ZTE and Ericsson. If China plans are to go well, China will be among the first countries to offer commercialized 5G to users.
On the day China plan to commercialize the 5G, the three major telecom operators in China; China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom will have 30,000 to 50,000 base stations ready for the 5G in 40 cities in China.
Having 5G ready in 40 cities is a really great deal compared to the USA and South Korea plan. This indicates that China will have broader 5G coverage than them.
In April 2019, China’s first 5G network went live in the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone located in the country’s southern tech hub Shenzhen. China telecom company has joined hand with FTZ ( Free Trade Zone ) to construct 111 5G base stations.
The China Unicom has already performed 5G tests in Taijin, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Shenyang, Beijing, Qingdao, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Zhenzhou. Also, China Mobile plans to bring 5G network in more cities. They also plan to construct around 10,000 5G base stations by the year 2020.
